Our H1 2021 Roadmap

By Charlotte Willner, Executive Director, TSPA and TSF

As TSPA and TSF's new Executive Director, it is my delight to share some of what you can expect from us over the next six months. We're fresh into a new year, and it's already clear that 2021 is going to be a big one in trust and safety. With our working groups in full swing and new members joining every week, it's easy to get carried away in the day-to-day operations of our organization; it's important to me to slow down and give you a peek into what we've got planned for H1.

Growing our organization

  • We're welcoming our first round of annual corporate sponsors.

  • We're piloting individual membership options alongside our corporate sponsorships. This will allow individual practitioners to benefit from membership without relying on their employer.

  • We'll be hiring our first Associate Director to help us better serve our community of practitioners.

  • We're welcoming new members from companies with limited financial resources thanks to a generous grant from the Omidyar Network. The companies selected for this program develop products, services, and/or tools that equalize access to opportunities or commit to improving human interactions online.

Programs and partnerships

  • We're launching a job board on the TSPA website, which will highlight T&S career opportunities for all levels of experience.

  • Our Curriculum working group will debut a Trust & Safety 101 curriculum written with both current and aspiring T&S professionals in mind.

  • We're establishing direction and scope for TSF’s engagement with research to ensure that we're helping to connect the dots between T&S professionals and the academic community.

Convening the community

  • We'll be hosting several virtual events addressing emerging issues and best practices within online trust and safety. These will be a mix of public and members-only events.

  • Our Wellness & Resilience working group will present a series of events focused on T&S practitioner wellbeing.

  • We'll launch an events page that tracks relevant events across the T&S community, so practitioners have a central location to promote their own events and discover others.

These goals are just the beginning for us - and we can't wait to see what we build together with our T&S community. If you have ideas, or you want to get involved, you can get in touch here.
