The Community Trust & Safety team (CTS) is dedicated to the development of long-term strategies for equitable product design and development within the Facebook App. With Facebook App’s mission being “Uplift the world through safe & inclusive communities,” the Community & Safety team’s work is uniquely positioned to be a core component enabling equitable product development by focusing on centralizing social identity, user safety and community trust.
As a TPM for this team, you will build products, experiences and infrastructure around equity across the highest priorities in the Facebook App. You will play an essential role in influencing the organization to fundamentally change the way we develop products and drive equitable outcomes across the app to the benefit of underrepresented communities. The work you do will ultimately inspire a world that is more inclusive, equitable, and respectful. You will work with product teams across the company to ensure rapid development of new features. You will achieve this with a combination of: driving a research and education initiative, analyzing and recommending the right team structures, and closely partnering with different product teams to orchestrate new developments. We are looking for someone with excellent interpersonal skills, including relationship building and collaboration within diverse, cross-functional teams.

Technical Program Manager – Community Trust & Safety Responsibilities

  • Identify and drive product initiatives forward that have multiple leadership-level stakeholders and many moving parts
  • Define and manage strategic initiatives that improve design team efficiency and impact
  • Manage cross-functional product development programs in a matrix organization covering a range of teams and tools
  • Develop and manage end-to-end project plans and ensure on-time delivery
  • interface with several different Engineering teams for project requirements and scope
  • Drive internal process improvements across multiple teams and functions
  • Provide hands-on program management during analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, and post implementation phases
  • Proactively assess risk, raise flags, and resolve issues before they become problems for the larger teams
  • Measure impact of programs and initiatives both qualitatively and quantitatively
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with our creative team, product management, engineering, product design, user research and content strategy to ensure a smooth product development process
  • Support the management team with effective team communication, proactive problem solving, information distribution
  • Establish communication structure to report out updates, progress and status with task forces or leads on the team so everyone understands role and expectations
  • Manage program communication and proactively connect with partners in other offices or disciplines to make them aware of the programs and how they can provide support
  • Build impactful relationships and serve as a dependable point of contact across the product design, research, and content strategy teams and cross-functional partners you’re working with in all offices
  • Establish and execute activities that build team culture and community, team values and trust, and help individuals tie their work back to Facebook’s mission

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 4+ years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience.
  • Communication experience and experience working with technical management teams to develop systems, solutions, and products.
  • Organizational, coordination, and multi-tasking experience.
  • Analytical and problem-solving experience with systems.
  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.
