About Pinterest:

Millions of people across the world come to Pinterest to find new ideas every day. It’s where they get inspiration, dream about new possibilities and plan for what matters most. Our mission is to help those people find their inspiration and create a life they love. In your role, you’ll be challenged to take on work that upholds this mission and pushes Pinterest forward. You’ll grow as a person and leader in your field, all the while helping Pinners make their lives better in the positive corner of the internet.

We’re looking for a Program Manager to join our Trust and Safety Operations team. As part of the team responsible for ensuring a safe experience on Pinterest, you will ensure appropriate treatment of sensitive terms on Pinterest and work with content moderation specialists and cross functional partners to improve processes, tooling and policies for managing sensitive terms. You will be responsible for day-to-day operations and managing planning and strategy for this key area.

What you’ll do:

  • Work closely with operations, policy, product and technical teams to build efficient, effective and flexible processes for sensitive terms management
  • Set direction and establish goals for sensitive terms management at Pinterest
  • Develop expertise on terms management policies and inform policy improvements
  • Enforce sensitive terms policies and advise others on appropriate enforcement actions
  • Conduct audits and create checks and balances systems to ensure compliance with policies
  • Train policy enforcement teams on tooling used to moderate sensitive terms and actively maintain documentation
  • Collect and prioritize tooling needs with stakeholders and drive improvements with tooling teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Appreciation for the complexities of content moderation and nuances of language
  • Strong project management skills: written and verbal communication, problem solving, diplomacy and organization
  • Experience with internal or 3rd-party tooling as an administrator or power user and with identifying and successfully advocating for improvements
  • Self-starter; comfortable navigating ambiguity and changing course when necessary
  • Comfortable viewing and discussing controversial, graphic or sensitive content
  • Availability to work weekend days, holidays, and on-call/after-hours coverage on a rotational basis
  • Preferred: Experience with managing projects in emerging content safety areas
  • Preferred: Experience with text-based content moderation or keyword list management
  • Preferred: Proficient in more than one language
